A 1968 Aston Martin DBS has come forth from a barn after 30 years of storage, and it’s now set to be offered for sale at Silverstone Auctions’ May Sale on May 20. Delivered to its original owner on November 5, 1968, this DBS features a Mink Bronze exterior and a red Conolly leather interior.

The car’s original owner sold it in 1970 and it was then registered in the island of Jersey off of the coast of Normandy. It was in regular use until 1986 when it was put into storage with only 30,565 miles on the odometer. Other equipment included in the car are a Motorola radio, a Borg Warner automatic transmission, power-assisted steering, fog and spot lights, and air conditioning. This example remains close to original condition but is in need of restoration, and the vehicle’s mechanical condition is not known.

Powertrain components such as the original six-cylinder engine (number 400/3728/S) and the automatic transmission remain complete. In total only 787 examples were produced. Silverstone Auctions will offer the car with an estimate of £50,000 to £60,000, which is equivalent to around $72,000 to $87,000.

Produced from 1967 to 1972, the original Aston Martin DBS was powered by a 4.0-liter I-6 rated at 283 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque that was paired to a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission sourced from Borg Warner. The Vantage variant had more power with 325 hp and 290 lb-ft of torque. A V-8-powered DBS was produced from 1969 to 1972 and employed by a 315-hp 5.3-liter V-8.
