Audi R8 V10 Plus Selection 24H Revealed, Limited to 24 Units

One year has passed since the introduction of both the new Audi R8 and the R8 LMS GT3 racecar, and the racecar’s inaugural victory at the Nurburgring 24 Hours. To celebrate that win, the company has built a special edition of the car with quite the mouthful of a name: the Audi R8 V10 Plus Selection 24H.

Paying homage to the GT3 car, the Selection 24H has been finished in Suzuka Grey, Mythos Black detailing, and Misano Red accents that mimic the racing livery worn by Audis. The front splitter, exterior mirrors, engine compartment cover, and rear wing and diffuser have been finished in gloss carbon fiber. Additionally, Audi placed a unique matte finish“R8 24H” logo on the car’s sideblades as well to denote the car’s special lineage. Lastly, the tailpipes have been blacked-out and the 20-inch forged 10-spoke rims have been finished in gloss anthracite black.

Inside the car, Audi designed the interior to feel more like the actual racing car with what the company calls a “driver-focused monoposto arc.” Firstly, extended carbon fiber inlays surround the cockpit and vents, which also carry the same matte “R8 24H” logo found on the car’s exterior sideblades. The car’s serial number, of which Audi will only will be build 24 of these special editions worldwide, is displayed in gloss-finish carbon fiber along the door sills. One feature, though, won’t be exclusive to the Selection 24H for much longer. As you approach the door, and hit the unlock button, the entry lights now project an Audi R8 logo on the road surface.

In terms of performance changes, not much has been done. The Selection 24H receives a new dynamic steering system, adaptive damper controls in conjunction with Audi’s magnetic ride, and Audi’s brilliant laser light headlights. Nothing has been done to the glorious normally aspirated V-10, therefore ensuring its orchestral exhaust note remains intact.

The price of the car hasn’t been disclosed yet, but according to Audi, more details will soon be released. There’s little chance this limited-run Audi R8 will come the U.S., as it’s slated for just 24 units of production, so we’ll have to admire it from afar.
