Imagine if Chrysler and GM were to merge

Chrysler was an automotive company that focused on building stylish executive cars that were built with big power motors like the Hemi engine. But Chrysler is not only Chryler, Chrysler has Dodge which was focused on building muscle cars, super cars, and trucks with sporty cartoon characters to them. Even Chrysler did make the muscle cars. GM had so many brands, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, and more of course. GM overall was focused on production versus putting more into their cars like Chrysler has done. Both involved in the auto sector but the two are different from one another’s mission. One was ahead of their time such as the Dodge but the other was focused towards meeting qualified standards for the GM.
In today’s modern world of automotive where would Chrysler and GM stand if they agreed on merging together ?  it’s almost difficult to say really but the two both have one thing in common. They are a brand and an icon in Detroit and throughout the world. They have been around for more then 50 years and have the recognition.  They are well respected within the industry and have a huge following. but what if you took their best sports cars and merged them together  ? Let’s say the GM Corvettes where fitted with Viper engines and its disk brakes, that might be a really cool feature to have in a Corvette if you think about that. The Hemi motors would fit into the Camaros and then even fit the hellcat engines into them. If the joint ventures were to cross their assemblies lines between the two platforms that would be one solution of having Chrysler and GM work towards rebuilding what was once traditional. But what if Chrysler and GM were to fuse together and just run separately and independent from one another ? They would definitely make improvements and drastic changes of course however atleast the two are traditional at heart although owned under one umbrella company if that’s going to be the idea.
