Jim Gaffigan Featured in 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Commercials

To kickstart the launch of their newest minivan, Chrysler enlisted the help of comedian Jim Gaffigan to be the frontman for the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. In the new ads, Gaffigan demonstrates how the Pacifica strengthens your “Dad Brand.”

In the short commercials, Gaffigan discusses what makes a good father and what makes the Pacifica such a perfect vehicle for fathers. He relates a series of topics and examples to safety and convenience features on the Pacifica, including parking assist, touchless sliding rear door, and rear-seat infotainment. As a bonus, both the kids and Gaffigan’s wife in the commercials are all cameos by his real family.

Overall, there are five commercials, each with their own focus on the safety features and family scenarios, including trespassing on private property, watching neighbors from your windows, and defeating an elder woman at tennis.

What isn’t mentioned in the new commercials are any of the powertrain details, which is interesting, considering that the Pacifica is available in hybrid form, a first in the minivan segment. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid capable of 30 miles of electric-only range, with the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine found in the non-hybridized Pacifica to keep things going when the batteries are drained.
