Josh Kopelman is an internet entrepreneur, venture capitalist, investor, and philanthropist with an estimated net worth of $500 Million. Kopelman is best known for having founded Half.com which is a fixed price market place that connects buyers and sellers of used books, movies and music products that Kopelman sold to Ebay in a deal for USD $350 million in 2000 and remained with Ebay for three years having founded TurnTide that following 2004. TurnTide was an anti-spam technology company that was acquired by Symantec for USD $28 million. Kopelman became a General Partner at First Round Capital and threw First Round it made many investments including in recent startups like Clover Health that invested $100 million in a venture round, The Black Tux that got a $25 million Series B investment and various other tech start ups that First Round Capital invests in. Kopelman has also made personal investments himself in companies Grokker, PandoDaily, Feedster, Adchemy, and delicious. Josh founded First Round Capital in 2004 to reinvent seed-stage investing for companies. And since that time the firm has invested in over 200 emerging technology startups – becoming one of the most active venture capital firms in the country heavily investing in new start up companies. Josh was ranked at sixth on the Forbes 2012 “Midas List” of the top 100 tech investors. Josh has been named as one of the top ten ‘angel investors’ in the United States by Newsweek magazine which brought publicity to the internet entrepreneur, also he was named as one of “Tech’s New Kingmakers” by Business 2.0 magazine and a “Rising VC Star” by Fortune magazine as well. Josh also is the proud winner of a second place ribbon in the 2011 Nantucket Watermelon Eating competition.

Josh is an inventor on thirteen U.S. Patents for his work in Internet technology. In June 2000, he was awarded Ernst & Young’s prestigious “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for the Greater Philadelphia region making him a well respected entrepreneur.
