Nick Diaz wants to rematch Anderson Silva in a ring … not UFC’s ‘dog cage’

Woof, woof.

Nick Diaz still believes he won his fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 earlier this year. Even though the Octagon-side judges all came to the conclusion that “The Spider” did enough to get the win in “Sin City.”

Full results here.

And he’s ready to prove he’s the better mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, once again calling for a rematch against the former Middleweight champion.

But, he has a few changes he’d like to make, as the Stockton slugger posted via Instagram that he wants the rematch to take place in a PRIDE FC-style ring, not Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) “dog cage.” He also wants the promotion to implement yellow cards much like PRIDE used to do.

Check it out:

Diaz has long favored PRIDE-style rules over the current unified set — he is very familiar with both having competed for each organization during his prime.

Nick hasn’t competed since coming up short to Silva over Super Bowl weekend, and as it stands, he has no plans to step foot in side the Octagon anytime soon. Not like either man could if they wanted to anyway.

But, it’s safe to assume that if Dana White and Co. came knocking with a do over against Silva, Diaz would be all over it, old ring or rusty cage.

In the meantime, the talented combatants have bigger fish to fry.
