Nunavik Teen Shot By Quebec Police After 26-Hour Standoff

A 17-year-old youth is in hospital after being shot by Quebec provincial police following a 26-hour standoff in northern Quebec.The incident began Friday night, when officers were called to the residence in Umiujaq on an assault call.Police say the suspect fired at the officers, who were not hit.The standoff that followed lasted more than a day, during which police say the suspect fired again on the officers.The incident ended at 11:30 p.m. Saturday after police shot the suspect.
