UFC 187 bonuses: Daniel Cormier, Chris Weidman and more bank an extra $50,000 in Vegas

Mo money, mo problems …

What a night!

The dust has barely settled on UFC 187: “Johnson vs. Cormier” from Las Vegas, Nevada, which means it’s time to honor those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights last night (Sat., May 23, 2015) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 22 fighters on the pay-per-view (PPV) card, and it should come as no surprise who is leaving “Sin City” with a little extra grease.

Unsurprisingly, the back-and-forth Heavyweight slobberknocker between Andrei Arlovski vs. Travis Browne (read full recap here) was awarded the “Fight of the Night.” In fact, don’t be surprised if the showdown, which “Pitbull” won via first round technical knockout, is a “Fight of the Year” candidate once all is said and done in 2015.

That’s not all.

Daniel Cormier was singled out for winning the vacant Light Heavyweight title with a submission finish of Anthony Johnson in the main event (watch video highlights here) and Chris Weidman got the same treatment for his technical knockout finish of Vitor Belfort in the co-featured fight of the night (read full recap here).

Here are the special UFC 187 bonuses:

Fight of the Night — Andrei Arlovski vs. Travis Browne

Performance of the Night — Daniel Cormier

Performance of the Night — Chris Weidman

Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will release in the coming days.
