Nina Ansaroff catches the flu, UFC 187 bout against Rose Namajunas scrapped

Another one bites the dust…

Rose Namajunas will not be fighting UFC 187.

That’s because her opponent Nina Ansaroff has been deemed medically unfit to fight after coming down with the flu prior to her scheduled women’s strawweight bout that was scheduled to go down tonight (Sat., May 23, 2015) live on FOX Sports 1.

Being sick might explain why Ansaroff weighed in at 120 pounds during yesterday’s weigh-in (full replay here).

The announcement was made on UFC’s website:

After contracting a case of the flu, UFC strawweight Nina Ansaroff has been deemed medically unfit by doctors to compete in her UFC 187 bout against Rose Namajunas on Saturday night.

Bummer.
