UFC 187 results: Andrei Arlovski stops Travis Browne in an wild fight, apologizes to his friend right after

Former training partners — and still good friends — Travis Browne and Andrei Arlovksi hooked ’em up inside the Octagon tonight (Sat., May 23, 2015) at UFC 187 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, hoping to inch one step closer to a future Heavyweight title shot.

And it was X who advanced thanks to …

Arlovksi got the action started, charging in with a combination that barely moved the massive Hawaiian.  Moments later, though, he tagged him and Browne appeared to be in serious trouble. Browne retreated and Arlovksi swarmed, but he was somehow able to weather the violent storm.

Browne appeared to clear the cobwebs, but then Arlovksi drilled him again, buckling his knees. Browne,, though, shook it off once again, as Arlovksi was unable to close the show early. More combinations from Arlovski, and the a clubbing strike, dropped Browne like massive oak tree.

He got back to his feet, somehow, and landed a Hail Mary shot that dropped Arlovski, who was able to get back to his feet a fire back. Browne, though, could not turn the tide, as Arlovski kept up the pressure, landing a huge uppercut and straight right hand along the fence that had Browne out on his feet.

What an incredible, action-packed fight that lasted just 4:41 minutes. Arlovski actually apologized to Browne in the post-fight conversation, but “Hapa” told him he had nothing to be sorry for.

Great stuff!
