Infiniti has announced pricing information for its range-topping Q50 model. The 2016 Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 starts at $48,855 in rear-wheel-drive configuration. Prices go up $2,000 with all-wheel drive.
The Q50 Red Sport is powered by a version of the new 3.0-liter VR30 twin-turbo V-6 engine producing 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Special features include unique exhaust tips, unique 19-inch wheels, and “S” exterior badging. Many of the standard features on the Red Sport are also standard on multiple Q50 trims: leather-appointed upholstery, a 14-speaker sound system, SiriusXM with a three-month subscription, dual screen infotainment system, rearview monitor, and brake assist.
Infiniti announced prices for the four-cylinder Q50 last month. The base model with a 2.0-liter turbo-four offers 208 hp and starts at $34,855. That’s a full $3,200 less than the 2015 Q50 which offered a naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V-6 as the only gas engine.
Q50 Hybrid models feature the same hybrid setup from last year. These vehicles start at $47,955 and come equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 and 50 kW electric motor. These two systems produce a combined 360 hp.
The Q50 remains Infiniti’s best-selling model, followed by the QX60 crossover. Last month, the automaker sold 5,590 Q50 sedans, up significantly from the 3,901 units sold in March 2015.
