Brian Mason And Amarjeet Sohi Are Giving Us Political #SquadGoals

Sorry Taylor Swift, Alberta’s infrastructure minister and his new federal counterpart are setting our new standard for squad goals.

Alberta NDP MLA Brian Mason and Liberal MP Amarjeet Sohi have a lot in common.

The pair have experience as bus drivers for Edmonton Transit before serving on city council (Mason from 1989 to 2000 and Sohi from 2007 to 2015). Now, both are infrastructure ministers — at the same time.

Mason and Sohi met up after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled his cabinet last week.

“In fact, we took a selfie together,” Mason said.

Like any true squad, they’ve even co-ordinated their look — those mustaches and glasses are on point.

Mason said he’s confident the two are going to have a great working relationship. The Liberals have already promised to significantly boost infrastructure spending for Alberta. Talks will start next year to discuss restoring funding to the province’s transportation infrastructure program.

It seems destined that the pair’s politics match up as well as their moustaches do.
