Burglary Suspects in Mustang Convertible do Donuts, Taunt Police in L.A.

Southern California is known for several things: convertibles, police chases, congested traffic, Hollywood, and beaches. A pair of burglary suspects has combined four of those things by running from the cops in a fifth-generation Mustang convertible from Cerritos through Hollywood and the downtown Los Angeles area.

One thing Southern California drivers aren’t known for is their ability to drive in the rain. After spotting the police on their tail, the suspects dropped the top on their Mustang, waved to onlookers, flipped off the cops, and began doing donuts in the middle of traffic. The suspects are likely soaked riding around with the top about two-thirds down in the pouring rain.

The two suspects have shown little regard to authorities and bystanders alike. During the chase, the passenger even threw a brown paper sack at a TMZ tour bus as well as other vehicles on the freeway. The Mustang has used both shoulders on the freeway and even traveled the wrong way on surface streets through red lights.

The chase is still ongoing. We’ll update with more details as they develop. You can watch the chase live on ABC 7 here.
