For the new model year, the 2016 Mini Clubman grows in size and enters the premium compact segment. When the previous generation made its debut in 2007, it featured a small rear door on the passenger’s side. However, Mini has decided that with the new Clubman’s larger dimensions, four full-size front-hinged doors were necessary. Mini has added plenty of other firsts for the 2016 Clubman, including an electric parking brake, available power seats, the Mini Excitement package that adds LED interior and ambient lighting and more. But the question remains: did Mini stray too far from the original Clubman by creating a model that can no longer be considered “mini?”
