Rene-Charles Angelil, Celine Dion's Son, Delivers Touching Eulogy At Dad's Funeral

René-Charles Angélil didn’t have much time to know his father.

But Celine Dion’s 15-year-old son had plenty of touching words to offer during his father René Angélil’s funeral at Montreal’s Notre-Dame Basilica on Friday.

Footage captured by Radio-Canada shows René-Charles, Celine and René’s oldest son, talking about how they grew closer in their time together.

“You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker and smoked meat.”

“You had a busy life, but we were communicating through golf, hockey, poker and smoked meat,” he said, drawing laughs from mourners.

René-Charles said his father left him with “enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers,” five-year-old twin boys Nelson and Eddy.

“Dad, I promise you here that we’re all going to live up to your standards,” he said.

René-Charles closed his eulogy saying, “Je t’aime, pa,” which means, “I love you, dad,” in French.

Photos captured before the service show the teen walking arm-in-arm with his grandmother, Thérèse Dion, as his mother walked ahead with her younger sons.
